My son will be one this November and my daughter will be two this September. My son's crib is still in our room. in the next few months we plan on having them share rooms. I need some decorating ideas for their room. Should I do half the room in a girly theme and the other half in a boyish theme... Or should I make the whole room a neutral theme? Depending on your answer what kind of them should I have for the room? I need some good ideas! By the way we will be living in a two bedroom apartment so the room isn't that big and I don't have a huge budget for the room. I need some cheap practicle ideas! Thanks

  7. Disney Princess inspired bedroom for Adults?

I'm almost 24, and I still love Disney Princesses. Now I want to have a room inspired by them, but an airy elegant/lovely room where it's obvious a woman lives there. I've bought the paint for the room already (Disney's Behr line of colors in: Cinderella's Ball Gown {light/medium blue} and Timeless Tales {soft minty green}. I plan on painting the top half of my room in the "Cinderella's Ball gown", and the Bottom half in "Timeless Tales", and placing a chair rail (painted white) to cover where the colors meet. Now my question really comes in: How to I continue to decorate the room, but not make it look too little girl? For decorating, I'm thinking of buying things like pillows with tassels on them, and the collectible items of my favorite princesses (not like posters, etc.) and keeping it simple. Help?

  8. I need opinions!!! I'm redecorating....?

I want to do my living room in safari like elephants and tigers...stuff like that and I need help choosing a color to paint it. I'm also painting my daughters room and the theme is "disney princess." Should I paint it pink or white? My bathroom is going to be done in palm trees and I was thinking like a sage green. I need help deciding what color to paint my kitchen which is going to be done in "roosters" and my bedroom and thats still undecided. What do you think? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

  9. princess or fairy tale bedroom?

Anyone know a website I can visit that sells princess (not disney) and/or fairy tale bedroom stuff for a little girl? My daughter would like a "princess" themed bedroom, but everything is SO expensive. Her room is nice right now, but it's a miss-matched mess of hand-me-downs. The only beautiful thing is a light-beige wood-grain dresser with mirror that is just breathtaking that my mother-in-law gave us. Other than that, he doesn't have a bed frame, just a box spring and mattress on the floor, plain white curtains, no comforter, and some Disney princess decals on the walls (we want to get away from the Disney stuff). I found a beautiful website called 'the frog and the princess" but it's like, $300 for a quilt, $120 for 1 curtain shear. Give me a break! Any ideas would be great. Thanks! The princess and the frog is an old Fairy Tale, Disney just recently used it for a movie. But the website has nothing to do with that, hence it's called the "Frog and The Princess". It's such beautiful stuff...check it out. www.thefrogandtheprincess.com I would do it myself, but I can't figure out how to use a sewing machine. I'm just not cut out for it. I can cross stitch, so I'm thinking of getting some good quality stitchables, like afghans and sheets you can cross stitch on, and just doing it that way....

  10. Are daughters nursery?

  11. Muslims\others,my kid sister's bedroom has curtains of Disney Princesses, will we\the animators be punished?

Salaam Muslims, Prophet Muhammad said that the painters of pictures on some curtains will receive the strictest punishment from Allah on Judgment Day! Volume 8, Book 73, Number 130: Narrated 'Aisha: The Prophet entered upon me while there was a curtain having pictures (of animals) in the house. His face got red with anger, and then he got hold of the curtain and tore it into pieces. The Prophet said, "Such people as paint these pictures will receive the severest punishment on the Day of Resurrection ." My parents are Muslims, although I am not Muslim anymore, will the animators who painted the Disney Princesses like Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella be punished by Allah(swt) on Judgment Day?? My sister loves those pictures, but should my parents tear the curtains like Muhammad did?? @No pizza... I am agnostic, don't believe in any God, & certainly not in Allah & Muhammad.

  12. What should we do about our daughters' room?

With our first daughter we had Looney toons as the theme so it wasn't too girly. The mobile and bedding for that got ruined though. For my daughter, who is now 2, we got her the spongebob room set. Its table and chairs, bed, and storage for her toys. Well, the reason we chose the Spongebob instead of a more girly character that she likes just as much like disney princess or dora is because we knew we were having another baby and were planning for just in-case it was a boy so their decor in their room that they will be sharing wouldn't look too bad. But, we just found out today that we are having another baby girl! I want to make the room more girly as my 2 year old girl is starting to become more into dress up, dolls, and girly things. Also, we were wanting to do a butterfly theme for the nursery part of their room for the new baby. So, what should we do about the Spongebob furniture? Its all blue and yellow. It seems more for a boy. Any suggestions or ideas for their room would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

  13. What theme is your baby or toddlers nursery/ room?

My 18 month old son has had his nursery decorated with the Thomas the Tank Engine theme, with the Thomas border, cut outs, lamp, night light, light switch cover, Thomas rug, and now that he can climb out of his crib we have to upgrade his nursery into a big boy room complete with the Thomas the Train toddler bed. Also I am 16 weeks pregnant, but not knowing whether we will be having a boy or girl I am not sure what my baby's nursery decor will be. I think that if I have a girl I might do Tinkerbell, or better yet Disney princess's. If we have another boy I don't know what theme I will go with yet. With my now 8 year old son, when he was a baby I painted his ceiling with clouds, and painted the walls yellow half way up with a sun, moon, stars border and the top half was blue. I also had stars, suns, and moons cut out from extra border and stuck them to the top of the walls and had glow in the dark stars on the roof. So when it was light it was daytime with the clouds and in the dark it was night with the stars. Also had a dresser and lamp that matched and the lamp rotated clouds on the walls. I am just wondering what theme all of you answerer parents have chosen for your little ones.

  16. Disney style bedroom ideas? please help lol?

To start thing's off, I am a big fan of Disney, I love it even though I'm 19, I visit Disneyland in California and Disney World in Florida almost every year and just this past April my friends and I traveled overseas to Disneyland Paris. I decided that it's time to redecorate my bedroom and decorating it Disney style is the theme to go. What I have so far for Idea's are I have a wrought iron bed frame which I was going to have Mickey Mouse comforter set with sheets and pillows and decorative Mickey and Minnie pillows that I seen off the Disney Store. And I was going to decorate my bed with plush toys of my favorite Disney character's. I was going to also decorate my walls with a few lithographs that I can also purchase of the Disney Store. I was going to create one big calloge off all my travels to the happiest place(s) on Earth. I am not sure what color to paint my room, eiether a lime green color or a light blue color and I was going to decorate it with toys from the classic movie and also some collectables ie. Cinderella's Castle miniature (if they still have it on the Disney store, but it is a must and I'm saving my money for it) or just The Cinderella's Castle Playset or The Sleeping Beauty's Castle play set I haven't decided yet. Are the idea's I have good so far? If you have any idea's could you please let me know, I thank you in advance :)
